About Us

The Claremont Home For Men is one of Claremont's "Best Kept Secrets" that provides a sense of comfort and security for men age 65 and older. The Home For Men is located at 219 East Foothill Boulevard in Claremont, CA. It has been providing security and services for its residents for 82 years.

The home was originally created by a banker and financier, Mr. John Brown, who felt that there was a need for a home for men over the age of 65. Today, we are private foundation. The Home For Men was completed in 1929 and today has 19 individual rooms, most with private baths. The Home provides a variety of amenities to its residents which include three (3) meals daily, daily and weekly housekeeping, laundry service, a weekly visit by a nurse, transportation to and from local doctor's offices, shopping and outings, an on-site monthly barber, a podiatrist every six (6) weeks, cable TV and a host of organized activities.

To qualify as a resident you must be a male 65 years of age or older. You must be able to administer and be self medicated and able to practice good personal hygiene. The Home is not an assisted living facility. The Home For Men is also a smoke free facility. The Home is within walking distance of churches, banks, drugstores and a shopping plaza.
